Your music stays yours.

You upload a performance. A coach reviews it and creates a private coaching report for you. You keep ownership of your music. Barsonic does not publish your submitted recording as part of the coaching service, and your submission is used to provide the coaching you asked for.

Separately, you can optionally allow your submitted audio, lyrics, derived performance measurements and coaching labels to be used privately to help develop and improve Barsonic’s future coaching system. This permission is off by default, and the coaching you receive is exactly the same whether or not you opt in.

Barsonic is currently an early-access service. This notice describes what is actually implemented today, not a future roadmap.

• Your performance audio, and the instrumental or beat if you supply one.
• Your lyrics, and the description of what you were trying to achieve with the performance.
• Your artist name and email address, so we can reach you about your submission and your report.
• Which coaching areas you asked for help with.
• Your required ownership and permission confirmation, and your separate choice about the optional development consent described below.
• Any feedback you give us about the coaching report.

Barsonic does not currently use advertising trackers, Facebook Pixel, or cross-site advertising tracking. That does not mean there is no technical or operational logging at all — standard infrastructure logging (for example, the kind that helps us keep the service running and secure) may still occur through the providers described below.

Your submission — audio, lyrics, intent, and contact details — is used to:

• receive and manage your submission;
• allow an authorised coach to review it;
• produce the coaching report you requested;
• let you access and read your report; and
• operate, protect and secure Barsonic.

We use your submission to develop or improve Barsonic’s future coaching system only if you separately give the optional development consent below. Without that consent, your submission is used solely to produce your coaching.

The submission form has a separate checkbox, off by default, that you can use to permit Barsonic to privately use your submitted audio, lyrics, derived performance measurements and coaching labels to develop, evaluate and improve Barsonic’s future coaching system.

We want to be precise about what this does and doesn’t mean:

• It is entirely optional, and off unless you actively turn it on.
• Opting out does not change the coaching you receive in any way.
• You keep ownership of your music either way.
• It does not permit Barsonic to publicly release, distribute, sell or license your recording as music.
• You can withdraw this consent for future use at any time by contacting us — see Contact, below.

One thing we want to be honest about rather than gloss over: raw audio and lyrics can be identifiable, so we do not describe opted-in material as anonymous or anonymised. Where we build aggregated or de-identified analysis from opted-in submissions, we’ll only call that specific output de-identified, not the underlying material itself.

Withdrawing consent stops future use of your material from that point forward. It doesn’t undo analysis or development work already completed using your submission before the withdrawal, and it can’t retrieve data that has already been genuinely and irreversibly aggregated or de-identified in a way that no longer refers back to you specifically.

• Your audio is stored in a private bucket with no public URL — it is not accessible by browsing or guessing.
• Your original filename is discarded. Files are stored under a randomly generated identifier instead.
• When a coach plays your submission back, the application generates a temporary access link that expires after a short window rather than staying valid indefinitely.
• Your report is reached through a long, randomly generated private link (not a guessable or sequential one), and the report page is marked so search engines should not index it.
• Anyone who has your report link is able to open it, so treat it as you would any private link — we’d rather be direct about that than imply otherwise.

We use reasonable technical safeguards to protect what you submit. No internet service — Barsonic included — can honestly guarantee absolute security, and we won’t claim otherwise.

• We do not claim ownership of your submitted music.
• We do not publicly publish your submitted recording as part of the coaching service.
• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not use your submission to develop or improve Barsonic unless you’ve given the optional consent above.

We’re also careful not to overstate this: running Barsonic necessarily involves service providers processing your information on our behalf, described below. “We don’t sell your information” is not the same claim as “nobody but Barsonic ever processes it,” and we don’t want to blur that line.

Barsonic operates from New South Wales, Australia, and is intended for an international early-access audience. We currently use:

• Supabase — for our database and private file storage infrastructure.
• Vercel — to host and deliver the application.

These providers operate infrastructure that may be international, so your information may be processed or stored outside your country of residence. We haven’t named specific storage regions here because we don’t want to state something we haven’t verified against our actual configuration — if that matters to you, contact us and we’ll look into it for you.

We’ll update this Privacy Policy if we add providers in a way that materially changes how your personal information or submitted material is handled.

We keep submissions and related personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, meet legitimate operational, security or legal requirements, or — where you’ve separately consented — for development work.

We’ll say this plainly rather than invent a number that isn’t true yet: early access does not currently have a fixed, automated deletion period. You can request deletion at any time — see below.

You can contact us (see Contact, below) to:

• request access to the personal information we hold about you;
• request correction of that information;
• request deletion of your submission, audio and report;
• withdraw the optional development consent for future use; or
• raise any other privacy concern.

There is no automated self-service tool for this in early access, so requests are handled by a person and aren’t instant. Your specific rights may vary depending on where you live, and legal exceptions can apply — we’ll do our best to explain clearly if one does.

Barsonic early access is currently intended for people aged 18 or older. Please do not submit material if you are under 18.

Barsonic operates from New South Wales, Australia, and is intended for artists internationally, including in Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your local privacy laws. Nothing in this Privacy Policy is intended to remove any right that can’t lawfully be excluded where you live — we’re not attempting a country-by-country legal analysis here, just being clear that local law isn’t overridden by this page.
